Spineshank - Self Destructive Patterns |
Spineshank have come back for more... maybe they shouldn't have. Their first
effort 'The Height Of Callousness' was swimming in electronics (woo), slamming riffs (wey) and.. catchy vocals (ahh!). But their latest outing 'Self Destructive Patterns' starts off ok but the more you listen to it, the more it taunts you, and it's not nice. It says, "WE MAKE MONEY FROM WRITING SHIT MUSIC". And it's unfair.
Every song sounds similar and you can be forgiven for thinking you left the
repeat button on, unfortunately you haven't... Spineshank have
come up with a self destructive pattern alright - their unimaginative song writing.
In fact there are about 2 songs that are just about passable. 'Violent Moodswings' and the single 'Smother' - which as a single fails to represent the album very well. Eventually the album becomes a game, you notice the song structures are similar in each song and by the end of it you could create a brand new Spineshank song in your head. And it's STILL not good! This is extremely uninspiration stuff and is neither original or interesting. Nu metal is still dead. Good.
