The Bronx - The Bronx
The LA hard-rocking punk band The Bronx are a band with bags of energy to be released on your speakers. Produced by ex-Guns N' Roses axeman Gilby Clarke with a strict three take rule it has all the feeling of a live gig. There's the occasional off note and all has a raw sound to it, hell It's so punk it even has a stencil with it so you can spray 'The Bronx' all over your leather jacket... if you have one. But is it worth sacrficing your beloved-never-washed-for-twenty-years denim jacket over? Let's find out...

The opener 'Heart Attack American' gets the album off to a good start and is followed quickly with single 'False Alarm' it's all fast paced, angry, intense, punk rock with an aged sound to it... Unfortunately after this the album loses itself in some anonymities of tracks that fail to leave an impression. They all sound rather similar and you can't help but feel that the best has been. That is until 'Strobe Life' comes on, it's not particularly in the style of The Bronx but it is a fucking good song. Unfortunately, it's not enough to resuscitate the album - it's good but not good enough to change your opinion on the album or give it another chance.

They end the album with a UK-exclusive cover, orginally written by LA Punk band X, and it's not anything worth bragging about! They fail to make it their own and it sounds like something they could never have written, it's too out of place on the album. Unfortunately the album is not worth bothering with, if you want to get the most of it then use the stencil for something useful, but I doubt you'll be proud of it.
