Yourcodenameis:milo - All Roads To Fault
On first hearing this band way back in October, I was absolutely stunned. It was refreshing, attention grabbing and above all, it rocked. After the 8 months tension ridden wait for the band to finally release something, I was honestly a little disappointed with this. Not because it's bad, it's brilliant, however the hype made this ep seem a little bit better than the reality. This of course is no bad thing. After all, this is a debut ep from one of the most exciting UK, thank fuck, bands, and so the potential and promise is literally sky high.

'All roads to fault' is essentially 7 tracks, and 2 promo videos, of British noise at its best. Using a hugely wide array of influences and styles, this mini album successfully makes an overall awe-inspiring, diverse rock album. The title track ‘All roads to fault’ is a heavy hitting, yet slightly commercial taste of the band, with catchy lyrics and incredible use of instruments.

The EP’s other single ‘The Problem’ is a slightly weirder, more anthemic, harmony toned track, which succeeds in being one of the bands impressive moments.

Some of the true works of art are to come though, with the outstanding, ‘First Mater Responds’, my first sight of the band, which holds a fantastic fast-paced frenzy of guitars and drums at it's heart. Towards the closing of the album, they show their weirder side, with the rather obscure ‘Lions, Then the Donkeys’ which offers interesting guitar and bass riffs, and a rather good drum beat.

The finale, ‘Rob the Hed’ is interesting and in places equally as obscure as the previous track before turning in to an uplifting, upbeat outro to this offering from Yourcodenameis:milo.

This time next year, they will be huge.
