Ally Craig - The Healing Process EP
Alastair Craig is an 18 year old solo artist who mainly focuses on acoustic songs. A self proclaimed "pioneer in wheelchair rock", Ally's EP thematically focuses on the aftermath of being dumped. Ally has a great voice and the guitar work is just brilliant. 'You Want Me Stemmons' features drums provided by a spanish guy called Ruis Costa, I'm not sure if it's an electric drum kit or an amazing recording but either way the drums are complex and fit very welll with ally's unique song structure.

In the envelope was a note saying how most of the tracks are strictly demos and that 'You Want Me Stemmons' was the only track Ally was really proud of, quality-wise. 'Afterthought' sounds great as it is, it's a great acoustic track and when he does redo some of the tracks and makes his own EP I hope he includes this one as it is. The other tracks don't have brilliant quality but since he recorded it through his computer you have to admit that he's done very well for himself. He's recorded two or three different guitar tracks for a few of the songs and put them over each other, it's nice to know that he's dedicated enough to do such things, most people would probably record one guitar track and run with it, but Allie's got the talent to make them compliment each other and put them all together neatly. I can't wait to hear the final versions of some of these songs as I usually find myself humming the melodies to myself, which can't be bad now can it?

Keep your eye on this guy.
