My Awesome Compilation - Actions
MAC, a fourpiece from Leicester, play keyboard/synth driven emo tinged pop. So far, so Jimmy Eat World, you may say. But this lot have the songs to stand out from the emo-pop crowd, and have a sound closer to that of Hundred Reasons meets classic Foo Fighters.

An awesome live presence (seen them twice), My Awesome Compilation do sound a little like JEW, but have fairly impressively hung on to their English accents for most of this record, and as previously mentioned, have some boss tuneage in their catalogue, including the fan favourite that appeared on their first EP 'The View Is Amazing', 'As Always'.

As predicted, the album is a bit samey, the backup singer closely resembling the faux-gruff of Charlie Simpson of Fight(BUSTED)star fame. 'Put Up A Fight' and eponymous track 'Actions' provide highlights, but this is a decent debut from the lads, and I will look forward to seeing them progress from support slots to headlining status.

The name's still bloody awful though.
