Melvins - (A) Senile Animal
Oh the daddies of grunge, the last ones standing from the early 90’s scene, and gladly so. Nearly 15 years after the release of their most popular album, 'Houdini', the Melvins are still pleasing the ears of a-many.

For this album, Big Business (a stoner rock/sludge metal band from the Seattle area) members Coady Willis and Jared Warren joined the Melvins. Dale Crover and Coady get down to some serious double drummer action, and this is what totally makes this album what it is.

It is apparent throughout the album that Big Business are now actually inside the Melvins. Opening with “the talking horse”, the melodic bass line, the beating of two drum kits and dual vocals (well, manly shouting) of the track really do get you in the mood for a head bang at the computer. And, certainly does give a tummy full of excitement for the next 9 tracks of Melvins joy. This is, without fail, a flowing album. Each track stands out like a jewel against the rough. “A history of drunks” makes for another fun 3 minutes, and really does remind one of a bunch of euphoric drunks. “A history of bad men”, yet again, impressive stuff, a track to listen to while self-pleasuring, if you’re good at multi-tasking, that is. This is rock and roll after all.

But seriously now, after hearing this album, you’ll realise (if you hadn’t already) that Buzz Osbourne is indeed called King Buzzo for a reason.
