November and all the alarming weather changes that come with it. Blah, blah. Credit crunch. Barama, Jacain. Blah. Yeah, it's important but we can't be bothered to mention it. Why? Because we're still buzzing from the weird fact that sat itself upon our laps; last month, DIRTY turned five. WTF?! What happened?!
We're still young at heart, still kicking shit and stuff. It's all good. The new site that keeps getting a mention in these blogs IS in development and is looking a bit jazzy, but I reckon it'll be up sooner than I think (faithindarrenburrows).
With the idea of a 'new site' came the various new features to accompany it. Many are live now, we're properly utilising the Blog with a weekly post called 'Radar' about the previous week's best music/art/design/whatever-related stuff that was featured on the internet. It's like a short, DIRTY-approved 'media orgy'.
There's also 'Spotlight' which focuses on some of our favourite people and organisations. It's a very open column just trying to show you some great stuff you maybe didn't know about.
The 'Linear Notes' features are making big waves on the site, mainly because they're quick and fun to read, and quick and fun to orchestrate at gigs, after in-store shows, whilst bands are in their dressing room doing nothing except drink cheap beer... Also because we got some big names; Kevin Barnes from of Montreal; Bradford Cox of Deerhunter; Randy Randall of No Age. We're aiming to mix these big names with some homegrown talent (like DIRTY's well-loved PRE or Copy Haho) to give the Linear Notes questions some depth.
This is just the beginning!
