Once you get past the fact Algernon completely rip these bands (as well as American Football, and the Promise Ring, to an extent) you realise what a fantastic record they have produced.

The bouncy basslines, noodling, tappy guitars and off-key yelps combine to create an album that makes you want to stick on your shorts and sunglasses and go running off along a Californian beach in the sun.

It twinkles, claps, cheers and flies along at this crazy, upbeat pace whilst managing to stay melodic and summery.
