Girl Talk - Feed the Animals
To some people, Girl Talk is currently the king of the world. Every night he plays packed shows to probably one of the most diverse audiences an act could ever pull. With ability and style so hot it thoroughly shames his imitators and predecessors, 'Feed the Animals' will make you want to download every single sample's source material, before you realise 'Nothing Compares 2 U' doesn't sound anywhere near as good without "I wuz gettin' sum head" between each line.

'Night Ripper' was the record that dragged Girl Talk into the public eye. On that album the samples there were a lot shorter, the style was more rapid; to a lot of older fans it was a better record. Personally though, the unashamed, completely unironic celebration of the top 40 and everything that is beautiful about pop music just gets better when you let big chunks play out. They're given enough time to satisfy, but never left long enough to get boring.

This little change in his style is why Girl Talk sells out tours now. Its also why I love this album so much more than I liked 'Night Ripper'. Don't expect his reign to finish any time soon.
