I love Kill Kenada. I think it's only a matter of time before you, your best friend and his dog will be muttering the same thing. Why? Well listen to this song, really listen to it, it's fucking great. The opening guitar riff is more infectious than the black plague, the drumming is really conscious of the song, the interlude kicks arse, it gets really heavy at points and soft at others and singer Tim's vocals are psychotic and possesed. You really cannot go wrong with this song. The song explodes as Tim screams "TO LIE!" and it's great, if you're anything like me then you're climbing up your wardrobe ready to jump when the explosion comes... who gives a fuck if you fall through the floor and into the kitchen, it'll look cool.
I haven't a clue what the lyrics are about, I don't really care either, just as long as I'm able to shout/scream/sing along I really couldn't give a fuck. The video was filmed in the back of a lorry, the drive of the lorry was ordered to go round a formula one track full speed making sharp turns and breaking really hardly. Guitarist Danny Williams actually lost a tooth at the end of the video when he falls into the drum kit. It's brutal andI think seeing the video makes me want to jump around the room and off various storage devices even more so because now I'm competing with them. Who can loose the most teeth? I'm not eager to loose mine but I am eager to loose all control of my body as soon as I hit the play button. It's the perfect song to listen to after a shitty day, just put it on and let out all your anger, jump off your wardrobe, stand on your bed, air guitar in front of the mirror whilst moving manically. Do it all. The interlude is great, the guitar and bass lines are different and interwove inbetween each other. Musically it's a very special moment. To me it is that and also a chance to get my breath back.
B-side 'Write Notes is on similar vein, fuelled with energy and more lyrics that I simply do not have the time to bother myself wondering what it means, obviously it's not as good as other B-sides KK have released before such as 'Hit The Floor' and 'Tear It Up' but I think it's worth owning this single for the pure joy of it. Trust me, I've got no reason to lie. (It had to be said).
