Ikara Colt - Modern Feeling
'Modern Feeling' is art-rockers Ikara Colt's third single off their brilliant, filofax-inspired artwork album 'Modern Apprentice'. Unfortunately for me this isn't my favourite track off the album, to me Ikara Colt are a band that I can run around my room to and this song is a slightly slower paced version of what they represent to me but for new-comers to Ikara Colt I think it will still be a nice introduction to the Colt's music. The video is bloody good too.

It's a groovy foot-tapper of a tune, the bass-line is mean and relentless. The vocals have a "I don't give a fuck what you think" attitude behind them and are later accompanied with guitairs Claire Ingram's vocals. It's a good song but I find it so dry and 2-d compared to other songs on their album, like 'Jackpot' or 'I'm With Stupid' - which would've been more than suitable to be released as they have a fire in their belly and are filled to the brim with energy, still this is the otherside of Ikara Colt that people haven't been exposed to before I guess. Go to their site or their label's site and listen to some of their other songs, see them live and ask your record shop for 'Modern Apprentice'.
