Do Me Bad Things - What's Hideous?
It’s pointless to hate ‘Glam Rock’ because its shit, really, it would be like lambasting the news because it’s too serious, unfortunately it’s becoming hard to ignore, so should we embrace it? Maybe. Even though it is now 2003 most unwanted gift, the Darkness’ album left a Mars Volta afro-sized mark on popular music and though we are yet to see copycat bands such as the Tokyo Dragons reach the same heights, there is now a readying acceptance for all things camp and OTT.

Until now DMBT were just another band trying to capitalise on the Darkness band wagon, yet with new single 'What’s Hideous' they dived firmly into Scissor Sisters territory, they’ve added some keys and sax and allowed backing singer “Chantal Brown” to take front stage, creating a song so catchy it’ll probably become a disease, Domebad-itis. The mandatory solo, which combines sax and guitar to great effect, is one of the most restrained solos ever, lasting only a few seconds before crashing down joyously you as a sort of musical orgasm. Also unlike the Scissor Sisters, no one in the group looks like they need a good slap.

Praise indeed.
